Introduction Ro 60 kDa autoantigen is an RNA-binding protein that binds to several small cytoplasmic RNA molecules known as Y RNAs. SSA2 may stabilize these RNAs from degradation. Sera taken from patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) often contains antibodies that react with the normal cellular SSA2 protein as if this antigen was foreign.
Description TROVE2 is a natural protein having a molecular mass of 60kDa. TROVE2 is purified from bovine tissues by protein-chemical methods.
Source Bovine tissues.
Formulation TROVE2 is supplied in 16mM HEPES buffer pH-8.0, 400mM NaCl, and 20% glycerol.
Immunological function Binds IgG-type human auto-antibodies.
Immunological tests Standard ELISA test (checkerboard analysis of positive/negative sera panels); immunodot test with positive/negative sera panels.
Applications Western blot with SLE sera (secondary Sjogren’s syndrome).
Coating concentration 0.2-0.6 µg/ml (depending on the type of ELISA plate and coating buffer). Suitable for biotinylation and iodination.
Storage Conditions Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time.
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
Purity Greater than 60% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
